Affliction’s refining fire…
For 8 long weeks, I’ve wrestled with debilitating pain in my right leg and hip, a humbling reminder of frailty. Training for a half-marathon, once a boastful pursuit, now laid aside.
MRI results revealed two hip labral tears, a stark testament to the fragility of our bodies. Yet, in this weakness, I find solace:
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)
Today’s appointment with the Orthopedic doctor brought clarity: rest, physical therapy, and specialist care in Fargo.
But honestly, the hardest blow came when I realized I’ll miss camping with my boys and our Trail Life Troop this weekend. Those moments, forging memories and character, are precious to me.
In this season, I’m reminded:
- Idols crumble beneath trial’s weight.
- Self-sufficiency gives way to dependence.
- God’s strength shines brightest in weakness.
Pray with me for healing, and that through this, Christ would be magnified. May this trial refine me, that I may reflect His glory more radiantly.
