Reminder from Voice of the Martyrs
From The Voice of the Martyrs – USA:
God sends some of His most faithful servants to their deaths, and He has every right to do so. Our merciful and loving Savior is also our sovereign Lord, and He calls us to be His witnesses at any cost. When think about God in relation to myself, it is critically important that I think not only about what we each do but also about who we each are Heavenly Father. You are my Lord and I am Your faithful witness
The Bible’s original words for Lord-Adonai and Kurios (Hebrew) and Greek, respectively) are part of my daily prayer life. I hope you will consider adding these words along with the Greek word martyr (suffering and faithful witness) to your daily thoughts and prayers. Think about the Lord (your Adonai, your Kurios) each morning, and then ask Him to empower you to be His witness (His martyr) as you commit to embrace any hardship and opposition that witness may require.
We were bought with a price: we are not our own (1 Corinthians 6:20, 723). We are not just free; we are free in Him and freed to do His will (Galatians 5:13-14, 1 Peter 2:16).
