Found Faithful

By Tim

I received this encouraging reminder from the Family Research Council:

One of the most encouraging things to me is listening to a fellow Christian share their story of coming to Christ. In 1 Timothy 1:12-16, we read Paul’s testimony of how he was transformed through the Lord’s overflowing grace and mercy. I am grateful the Holy Spirit is continuing to redeem and reconcile people to Jesus, including you and me.

In these days of uncertainty, I encourage you to be faithful reading God’s Word, praying, and sharing the Good News of Jesus with others. Take a moment to write out your testimony using these three headings: “Before Christ,” “How I Came to Christ,” and “Today with Christ.” Then share your conversion story with a family member or neighbor.

Throughout the book of 1 Timothy we read instructions on praying for those in governing authority, honoring widows and elders, and so much more to help us be faithful servants of Jesus Christ.

It reminds me of these words from Steve Green’s song “Find Us Faithful“:

“Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful

May the fire of our devotion light their way

May the footprints that we leave

Lead them to believe

And the lives we live inspire them to obey

Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful”

Let us be found faithful in praying for elected officials as they make decisions that impact our families, lives, and liberty. Join me in reading the following resources and Scriptures to guide your prayer time this week.

Read:1 Timothy 2:1-7; 1 Timothy 1:3-11; Genesis 1:27; Proverbs 16:12
Pray for government officials to be convicted by the Holy Spirit and awakened to see the truth that God created us in His own image as “male and female,” therefore we have no right to re-create ourselves otherwise. Pray that they will be restrained from enacting unrighteous laws and policies.

Read: Proverbs 22:6; Psalm 127:3; 3 John 1:4; Ephesians 6:1-4
Pray for parents to stand firm and courageous for their children, loving them and being actively involved in their academic and spiritual education.

Read: Romans 13:1-7; 1 Peter 2:13-17; Daniel 2:20-21; 1 John 3:4
Pray for our government to protect our nation’s borders and carefully handle the illegal entry of tens of thousands of people into the United States and help refugees in a legal and respectful manner.
